Who is the author?

  • Online (Teams link) (map)

After a full house at our in-person event, Our Who is the Author workshop is back online for all who want to dive into philosophy and ethics.

Key topics include:
- Historical perspectives on authorship and how AI disrupts traditional concepts
- Ethical frameworks for considering AI-assisted writing
- Questions of originality, authenticity, and creative ownership
- Implications for comms and PR.

Why?

We've been ghostwriting for decades without questioning authorship ethics. So why are we suddenly concerned when AI enters the picture?

Last week’s Heft workshop about AI writing ethics focused on authorship. In particular, the fact that media outlets routinely publish opinion pieces written entirely by communications teams under CEO bylines, yet we're now demanding transparency when AI assists with drafting. There is a philosophical question here about human – AI collaboration – and we are diving straight in.

Join us for a discussion of modern authorship -  from full AI transparency to traditional ghostwriting, and the considerations to bring to your professional writing.
